The NSW COVID Small Business Grants

The NSW Government has recently announced grants available for small businesses who have been impacted by the NSW Government Lockdowns. This is available to all businesses that can show a downturn of at least 30% for a 2 week period between 26 June 2021 and 26 July 2021 compared to the same period in 2019. Businesses that are not within the “Lockdown Zones,” will have additional requirements to meet before the payment can be accessed.

  • The Covid 19 Business Grant applications are now being taken. Application close 13 September 2021 (this applies to businesses with turnover of $75,000 and $50 million).
  • Application for grants for Micro Business Support (applicable to businesses with turnover of $30,000 and $75,000) open 26th July.
  • Applications for JobSaver (criteria listed below) opens late July.

2021 Covid–19 Business Grant

Applications can now be made for the NSW Government Covid 19 Business Grant.

If you’re a business, sole trader or not-for-profit organisation in NSW and you have been impacted by recent Covid-19 restrictions, you may be eligible for a one-off grant of $7,500, $10,500 or $15,000.

It is applicable for affected businesses who’s turnover is more than $75,000 up to $50 million.

There amounts available depend on the decline percentage in business turnover over a minimum two week period from 26th June 2021 to 26 July 2021 compared to the same period in June and/or July 2019.

 

Funding may be used for business costs that may include:

  • Utilities, wages and rent
  • Financial, legal or other advice to support business continuity planning
  • Marketing and communications activities to develop the business
  • The cost of perishable goods that can no longer be used or
  • Other activities to support the operation of the business.

JobSaver Program

Application for the JobSaver Program will open late July.

Eligible businesses with a turnover from $75,000 and up to $50 million with a revenue decline of 30% or more, who maintain their staff headcount will receive tax-free fortnightly payments of 40% of their weekly payroll, with a minimum payment of $1,500 per week, and a maximum payment of $10,000 per week. Eligible non-employing businesses will receive $1,000 per week. Payments will be made fortnightly.

 

Applications will open on the late July and will be through Service NSW website.

Micro Business Support Grants

Application for the Micro Business Support Program will open from Monday 26th July 2021.

This will be available for eligible businesses with a turnover of between $30,000 and $75,000 that experience a decline in turnover of 30% or more. Eligible businesses will receive $1,500 per fortnight of restrictions.

 

Applications will open on the 26th July and will be through Service NSW website.
